A posed line up of Motts early doubledeck contract fleet. The Alexander bodied decker on the left is thought to be an Atlantean from a Scottish independent (Graham's of Paisley?). Alongside is the pre-Yellow Bus DMS, then long surviving fleet member, ex West Midlands PTE KON362P and finally, a former Reading 'Jumbo' - Northern Counties bodied Bristol VRTLL 26 (XRD26J). |
Seen at the Grange School Coach Park in Aylesbury back in the late seventies is Motts' Dennis Loline III/Alexander, followed by one of their Ford R226/Duple Viceroy coaches. Behind in black and gold colours is a Dicksons Duple (Northern) bodied coach, probably also a Ford. Dicksons were taken over by Motts inheriting their Stoke Mandeville and Kingsey depots, the former becoming Motts main base until 2003. |
Two views of Motts ex West Midlands PTE/Coventry Daimler Fleetline with ECW bodywork. The flat fronted Fleetline body was adpated from that used on the Bristol VR in countless numbers by ECW. Probably uniquely the two ECW bodies could be seen together at Stokenchurch for a while when Bee-Line VR 902 (SRX945G) on the service run to Wycombe for morning schools meets "KWK" on a private contract to Icknield School, Watlington. |
A second view of this daily ECW flat screen encounter. |
Languishing in the Motts yard at Kingswood is their former South Yorkshire Fleetline built in the style of a DMS. It is with former Yellow Bus Leopards. |
