Winner of the best Transbus International award at EFE SHOWBUS International
2003 was Metrobus' Transbus Dart/Pointer 213 (SN03WMF). The bus is in Metrobus'
new 'more red' London livery. Perhaps 'Uncle Ken' is making a political statement?

Greater freedom of choice has resulted in this striking silver and blue colour
scheme for the new Scania Omnicity fleet on the Gatwick - Crawley Phase 1 Fastway
services. The vehicle, 532 (YN03UWY) won the prize for the best bus of the New
Millennium at the event.

Latest recuit to the Go-Ahead empire, and expanding its presence in the south of
England, is the hitherto independent Wilts & Dorset Motor Services. A regular
SHOWBUS participant, its presence this year was represented by the Van Hool bodied
DAF coach in W&D colours. W&D operate similar vehicles on behalf of National
Express.

The link with the pictures above is a little tenuous, but the sister vehicles to
this former London Spectra
have moved from the London Go-Ahead fleet to work in and around Newcastle. One
wonders how long it will be before they join the largest UK Spectra fleet,
recently taken into Go-Ahead ownership: Wilts & Dorset. SP2, as was, escaped
London for the west country before Go-Ahead appeared on the London scene and
the bus is now one of the few deckers in the MK Metro fleet.
