As many may be aware, Liz Chubb, a long serving member of the SHOWBUS crew passed away recently and her funeral at Canterbury gave an unwelcome opportunity to take some photos in the Kent town for the first time in many years. It was interesting to see the quite rare Plaxton Primo, a bus offered by Plaxton on underpinnings manufactured by Enterprise in Hungary, a course pursued at the time when the independent company was concerned it might be denied Dennis Dart chassis to build on following the merger between Dennis and body builder Alexander. The chassis was also the basis for a very similar model built by Designline in New Zealand. A Primo demonstrator attended SHOWBUS in 2007 and operated the site shuttle at Duxford. This example of Regent Coaches, FN06FLL, was new to Romdrive of Melton. Most Primos did not last long with their first owners, but a few operators have taken a like to them and built up small operational fleets. Sadly this is one of the few Plaxton models not expected to be on display at the SHOWBUS Plaxton 110 anniversary display at SHOWBUS next Sunday - unless you know someone with a Primo who would like to bring it along to Donington Park.
