welcome to the showbus picture of the week

We are grateful this week for this picture from nearly 45 years ago from Alan Murray-Rust at SHOWBUS 75, the third SHOWBUS event. It shows the line up of former London buses at the event staged as part of the annial Hillingdon (now West London) Show. It links nicely to our picture of the Ford R1014 demonstrator two weeks ago, which was at the same event. The line up doubtless evoked the refrain of "too many RTs" in much the same way that some enthusiasts nowadays bemoan the presence of more than a couple of Routemasters. These days we would be delighted to see this many RTs at SHOWBUS, and whilst some in the photo are doubtless still safely kept for posterity, others have fallen by the wayside. At least two RTWs can be spotted in the line up and an STL, plus two RFs, a pair of GS country buses and an AEC breakdown tender.
