Courtesy of the South Devon Railway archive we have this picture from days long gone by, expected to be around 1957. It seemingly depicts a Devon General Weymann bodied AEC Regent outside Torquay Railway Station. A clue as to why things are not all they seem is that the fleet and registration numbers do not match: DR715 (DDV421). The bus started its life in 1939 as a 32-seat singledeck dual purpose Harrington bodied AEC Regal numbered XR421. In 1953 it was extensively refurbished and rebodied by Weymann as a 58-seat doubledeck bus as seen here.
