We are grateful to Ed Goodridge for this week's piture froma visit to London Transport's Acton depot, used as an overflow for exhibits from the Covent Garden Museum. The buses in Acton are not exhibited as meticulously as those in Covent Garden, but the old Acton depot had regular weekend openings for the public before the pandemic forced the closure of both venues. As can be seen from this shot the Museum houses some interesting vehicles starting with the RT painted gold to commemorate Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee by Arriva, Alongside RT4712 (NXP997) is a Gold Arrow branded Wright Handybus bodied Dennis Dart, then RF537 (NLE537), side engined Q55 (BXD576), an AEC STL and the green prototype Country Area Routemaster, RM2 (SLT57). With its back to us is the unique front entrance, rear engined AEC Routemaster FRM1 (KGY4D), which has been to quite a few SHOWBUS displays at Hillingdon, back in the day. Far right, at the back are a couple of General "Ole Bill" style buses.
