By and large the bus fleet in Gran Canaria is modern and dominated by triaxle disabled access dual purpose vehicles like this DAF powered Iriza i4 integral, all of which appear as badges on the bus itself. This i4, 1656 (4274KCN) is seen at a stop in Playa del Ingles last week. Most major stops feature live departure displays and are frequently situated in roundabouts, a strange arrangement that works surprisingly well. Other buses at work for the local provider, Global - an odd name for a company confined to a relatively small island - are MAN, Scania and Volvo. Castrosua bodies feature especially on the Scanias, some of the MAN are integral whilst the Volvos are nearing the end of their days. There are also some two axle King Longs around, as well as two axle Irizar, MAN & Scania buses.
