East Yorkshire Leyland Panther MCW Topaz 824
Another one from our slide archive - it is amazing what is in there. Seen at Victoria in the seventies is this East Yorkshire National Express coach. It is one of a pair of MCW Topaz bodied coaches delivered in the company's primrose and blue coach livery in 1967. Making the coach even rarer is that the Topaz bodies are mounted on the rear engined Leyland Panther chassis, apart from a Plaxton bodied Panther supplied to Soudley Valley, the only other Plaxton coaches - around a dozen - ended up Down Under. The MCW Topaz body was not an overwhelming success either so 823-4 (JRH323-4E) were very special, more so when painted into National Express livery. This is thought to be 324.
We have thousands of pictures to choose from for our Picture of the Week but you are welcome to send in your own. If we do not feature it here, it may appear later in our picture gallery.
Ideally pictures should be 732 pixels wide and no more than 100kB.
