Adelaide Metro Volvo B12BLE Volgren CR228L 71
The sight of ostensibly Melbourne buses deployed in Adelaide on tram replacement work certainly jars the senses. Aside from the Adelaide Metro logo the bus is basically in Dysons livery. With changes in the franchised operations in Melbourne, Dysons were amongst the losers and had some surplus buses. Adelaide Metro (Torrens Transit) snapped some up for the Glenelg tram replacement service while the line is closed for some months - badly timed for the summer! The same thing happened fifteen years earlier as the line was upgraded for the new Bombardier fleet. This is former Dysons 771 (3158AO), new to the Reservoir Bus Company in 2006 as their 48. Simply renumbered 71 (XS30JM) it is appropriately displaying "HAPPY NEW YEAR" on December 30th at the temporary Glenelg terminus a nearly 15 minute walk from the usual tram terminus! Closer options were available, but they would probably have upset motorists! More jarring liveries were former Dysons buses in PTV orange or even Mooney Valley colours.
