First Berkshire's fleet of Volvo 7990H hybrid buses are just beginning to enter service on the 7-series of routes linking the Slough area with Heathrow's terminals. On Friday VSH69926 (BV13ZCT) is seen loading outside Slough Bus station in Wellington Street Heathrow bound. First branding is uite discreet on the outside, but corporate colours predominate inside with bright pink grabrails, though the seats are in a restrained mid-grey leather. The bus engine cuts out whenever the vehicle is stationary and it takes off silently under electric power, the engine cutting in shortly after. Apart from an annoying rattle from an internal inspection panel above the rear window the bus is quiet inside when running.
