This fanciful articulated trolleybus is in the fleet of TPER (Trasporto Passeggeri Emilia-Romagna) based in Bologna in Italy. The trolleybus fleet totalled nearly 100 units, half of which were these 2016/2017 Iveco Bus Crealis Neos, this being 1117. Older units were MAN/Autodromo and eleven newer Solaris Trolino built in 2010. All the trolleys were articulated units. This bus was seen on the 15 on Thursday, but the 15 was the only route on which trolleybuses were seen. Despite extensive overhead around the city other Neos were frequently using diesel power - either that or they had very noisy electrics! Apparently only one of the three TPER depots was wired for trolleybuses and they did use diesel power to ge to the other two, rather than use battery power. To compensate for the lack of trolleybuses TPER had several new all electric buses on city routes.
