Power Vehicle Innovation or PVI is a Renault subsidiary. Founded in 2000 it produced a number of vehicles with electric powertrains to perform tasks like household waste collection, street cleaning, etc. PVI was the first company in France to market electric buses, like the Oreos 55E, used by RATP on the Montmartrobus service in the popular tourist area around the Sacre Coeur where environmentally friendly buses were ideally suited. This is bus 303 seen in August 2006 headed the short distance to Pigalle though the streets are narrow and twisty the bus can cope with its daily range of 125km.

Seen at the same time was another elecric Gepebus viewed from in front of the Scare Coeur with a commanding view of Paris.

In this second view the Eiffel Tower can just be seen on the far right.

Now the Eiffel Tower is more central as the Gepebus leaves the tourist throngs but moves upwards and onwards to the narrower streets of Montmartre.
