In 2006 the oldest trams in the Budapest BKV fleet were these Hungarian built UV cars by Ganz. UV stands for Uj Villamos, simply Hungarian for new tram. The Buda terminus of the 41 is attractively opposite the Parliament buildings. 3870 is seen at the terminus, it is one of the last batch built, the UV5 model, in the early sixties.

Tram 3892 is seen from the same batch and is at the same terminus on a rather wet June 3rd in 2006.

The oldest tram seen in June 2006 was 3240 dating from 1957 from the prototype UV1 batch of 50 cars. There were 375 UV cars in total - plus the trailer cars. Here 3240 is on route 19, which like route 41 dives into a U shaped tunnel at the Buda end of the Széchenyi Chain Bridge across the Danube.
