Traffic Manager Chris Day used to refer to 112 (8626DT) as the "Jubilee Bus" back in 1977, the time of Her Majesty's Silver Jubilee, as he reckoned the bus was as old as the Queen! In reality the bus was new to Doncaster Coporation as their 26 in 1961 with Roe 45 seat bodywork. It is believed Chris is behind the wheel in this archive image in Kingsbury Square and 12 is on a rare run to Buckingham. The bus was usually in the charge of Cecil and confined to contract work. Cecil was always armed with a watering can as the radiator needed frequent top ups!

Seen arriving at the Grange School Coach Park in Aylesbury followed by "Rodney", 9 (ROD765), an ex Devon General AEC Regent V now preserved, the "Jubilee Bus", with Cecil at the wheel, is on a school contract.

Whilst 12 is the subject of this photo the interest is greater in the other vehicles in shot. The all Seddon Pennine IV, GWX840J, new to Edwards of Liverpool, one of the Harrington bodied Reliances, Bridgemaster
7 (27WKX) and Renown 4 (DPP990B) aka "Flower Power". |

In the AEC singledeck line up 112 as it had become was between ex Safeguard Coaches 108 and the Swifts.

From the other end the distictive old Roe bodywork still makes the bus stand out.
