 Motts Travel were pleased to acquire an Alexander Royale bodied Volvo Olympian from Finglands earlier in the year - it had been new to East Yorkshire. The bus was used to promote SHOWBUS at the Bucks Railway Centre Quainton Rally in May. The buses have dual purpose seating and are lowheight - unlike the ones simultaneously released from Lothian. Following the take over of Veolia's York operations, further buses were not released as expected from the EY operation. However later in the year, Harpurs were able to obtain ex East Yorkshire 594 (N594BRH) and Motts have also been able to acquire two more to replace its Metrobus fleet, the majority of which originated with East Kent.

From the East Yorkshire fleet itself came this splendid Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL, 706 (YX55DHN). Plaxton President bodied Volvo 670 was similarly painted in 2006 to celebrate the company's 80th anniversary. In early NBC days the corporate mantle allowed blue and white for its few inherited blue fleets, then it was banned in favour of red or green and EY opted for red. Perhaps if it had retained the blue then its privatisation livery would have reverted to these classic colours?

 Sandwiched between preserved Hull regulars, Roe bodied Panther 180 (GAT180D) and Atlantean 270 (TKH270H) is Stagecoach in Hull 18435 (YN06LMM) painted in Corporation livery to celebrate 110 of buses in the city. Beyond are the East Yorkshire buses with NBC liveried National 2 188 (LAG188V).

The bus has been preserved by Stagecoach East Kent, having survived longer than most in the fleet as a driver trainer. The bus was an unexpected entry and with the Stagecoach area full, it slotted in to fill the space taken by one of the doubledeckers that had been recruited at the last minute to fill gaps in the BUSES60 display following the unexpected failure of some entries on the day.
