We are grateful to a regular Showbus supporter for this picture of the unique Van Hool integral A600 which found its way into the South Wales fleet from Carlton PSV's Sheffield operations and subsequently to Sheffield Mainline. The bus had not been the most reliable performer, which is often the case with 'one-offs' in otherwise fairly standardised fleets. |
First Cymru 823 (L823HCY) is seen here on the important X2 link between Cardiff and Porthcawl in the picturesque town of Cowbridge. The Dennis Lance was not universally popular but the former Badgerline fleets bought large numbers and seem to cope well with them.
|
Sister Lance, 824 (L824HCY), is seen heading for Porthcawl, again in Cowbridge.
|
A fleet of Duple 425 integral coaches settled on the the Cardiff - Swansea express for a while, like 133 (MKH487A) is seen at Cardiff Bus Station. |
Take a second look: 821, now 67111, had actually been transferred to the Midland Red West or First Wyvern fleet. It is seen in Stratford upon Avon in the summer of 2004. |
