A four day gathering at Eldon in Victoria saw the annual gathering of Australian Flxible Clippers organised by the Flxible Clipper Club of Australia. The Club has tabs on most of the Flxibles imported into the country in the early fifties. The vast majority of those still active have been converted into mobile homes and the examples at Eldon had been tastefully done and produced tasteful and well equipped accommodation. Around fifteen were present at any one time at the country lakeside resort over the Easter weekend. We joined them courtesy of Gary Driver, travelling on his Heritage Collection fully seated example. The five seen had mostly travelled down from Queensland, though the red and cream example, dubbed Holy Moly originated in America. Having exhausted the supply of Australian examples, collectors and enthusiasts have found examples in the States and it has proved cost effective to import them for caravan conversion. Holy Moly was thus the oldest Clipper present, dating from 1947.
