Not far from Westcott on the main A41 105 was involved in a serious traffic accident on a wet day. The driver of a lorry lost control of his vehicle and struck the bus on the offside rear wheel causing it to be pushed into the ditch. The bus driver, Vic Priest, escaped without injury and the last passenger had just got off the bus. The truck driver did not fair so well and had to be cut out of his cab.
