One place 148 is not is Loch Ness, despite the colourful advert down the side. It is believed to be somewhere on the south coast sandwiched between Hants & Dorset ECW bodied Bristol VRTSL3 3389 (VPR488S) with MAP South Hants branding and Sampsons of Cheshunt's Plaxton Panorama Elite bodied Bedford YRT 24 (LNK786L).

When David Bowie performed a concert at Milton Keynes Bowl Tricentrol was contracted to provide a shuttle service between the Bowl and the Station. They subcontracted Red Rover to assist on the service and 148 is seen at the Station at the front of three other DMS. The two remaining AEC Renowns were involved too. With their dual doors and standee capacity the DMS buses lapped Tricentrols coaches on every trip and carrying more passengers each run.

With new adverts applied which lack the artistic flair of earlier incarnations 148 is seen at the back of the yard with new arrival 167 (OKW520R), an MCW bodied Leyland Fleetline, one of 28 new to South Yorkshire PTE and still carrying their fleet number, 1520. This batch of Fleetlines was built to London design and were the only ones delivered outside the capital.
