Showbus 2008 Stagecoach Lancaster Dennis Trident - Bring Me Sunshine with Eric & Ern

Sunderland Corporation 13 (GR9007), a Crossley DD42/3 dating from 1947, debuted at Showbus in 2007. Alongside is Dave Harvey's Birmingham Crossly DD42/7 of 1950 also with Crossley bodywork, but modified to Birmingham design. As always, Dave made his Crossley available for Duxford Tours to the delight of visitors.

Southdown's apple green and cream colours added to the summer time feel at Showbus. Nearest the camera, and bearing their fleetname, is Stephenson's of Essex 424DCD and alongside George Jennings' preserved 272 (BUF272C). The Stephenson's full front Northern Counties body, unlike 272's, is convertible to opentop and Southdown had a substantial fleet of such buses for south coast seaside services.

After several purchases of the extended Bristol REMH coach chassis for London services from Glasgow and Edingburgh, the Scottish Bus Group bought six Seddon Pennine 7s with the same American style Alexander M 42 seat coach bodies for Scottish Omnibuses, preserved is their XS750 (MSF750P).

Whereas the REMHs were delivered in yellow and black for the Edinburgh services, by the mid seventies the Scottish Bus Group had followed the English NBC with a corporate identity and this blue and white scheme replacing both Eastern Scottish and Western SMT identities. The early Showbuses benefitted from visits from one of these newly branded Scottish coaches on layover in London between overnight services.
