 Morley's DMS was till going strong at SHOWBUS international 2001. Prior to Morley's acquisition after leaving London after seven years it spent a year with Thamesdown Transport as their 128. |
 D Coaches of Morriston bought two MCW bodied DMS buses from Ensign in 1985, former DM1829 (GHM829N) and DM1880 (GHM880N). This is thought to be the former seen in Carmathen in service around 1986. Both left for scrap in 1999. |
 Park Royal bodied DM1022 (GHV22N) is in use in Fairwater to transfer students at Cantonian High School between sites, between lessons as the school transitioned from two campuses to one. Prior to arrival in Wales the bus had languished at Ensign's after its seven year stint in London then had two years with Smiths of Norwich. In 1987 it passed to another South Wales operator, Cleverley of Cwmbran moving to Hewitts in the same town two years later. In 1990 it began probably the most interesting five years of its life after being acquired by Gwent Conversions of Abergavenny for converson into a youth club. They loaned it to Harlow Education Committee for a month, Instant Muscle in Widnes for several months in 1991 when it was rumoured to have appeared in an episode of ITV's "London's Burning" then in 1992 it was helping out in the Lib Dem's General Election campaign. It was with Instant Muscle again in 1995 but no more is known of former DM1022. |
CK Coaches in Cardiff acquired THM586M, this MCW bodied Daimler Fleetline via Ensigns in 1981. It has spent its time in London working out of Poplar depot. The CK DMS buses were so iconic in the Welsh capital that the BBC hired one to spend the day in Aylesbury when they were filming a drama at Aylesbury Prison and pretending it was in Cardiff. A passing CK DMS was intended to complete the illusion. It is seen here in the fleet of Stevensons Bus Service parked in their Uttoxeter yard and already numbered 52 in 1982. Stevensons converted it to single door, a process they were proficient at, but sold it on to Clynnog & Trevor in North Wales later that year the bus spending less than a year back in England and not gaining fleet livery. Four years later it made its last journey to England: to Yorkshire for scrap.
